Does Nvidia have this type of flickering in SLI when a profile is not defined in their drivers? I have crossfire 290s but am considering going Nvidia next time around because of multi-gpu support seems to be better on Nvidia. It seems like multi-gpu support is just going away on both sides. I hope dx12 alleviates this...
Nvidia suffers more from micro stutter, but that can be overcome with a powerful pair of sli cards and/or higher refresh rates with vsync on. Either way it's still less annoying that flicker. I was so disappointed with my recent R9 380 crossfire setup and actually went back to my old 770's in SLI until Pascal comes along, unless AMD finally fixes the stuttering issue. My R9 380's, fortunately, sold on eBay for what I paid. I should have never even bothered giving AMD a chance but nvidia needs competition or we will all be screwed.

That flickering is in a lot of games, its a major bug they don't seem to want to fix or can't.Will be going back to Nvidia if they don't fix.

Fallout 4 is still a mess. I'm sitting here with 2 ASUS STRIX R9 390s and can't even play Crossfire on a 5+ year old gaming engine.Romulous - Sunday, March 27, 2016 - link
I never bother with sli or crossfire. Just get one high end card and be done with it.
